What Is Fever

The raised level of human temperature than normal is termed as fever. It happens when hypothalamus which is an area in the brain also called as thermostat of the body elevates the normal temperature value of your body.

Fever is characterized as a defensive condition in human body when attacked by bacteria or viruses. They try to breakdown the normal system and that’s when the immune system gets activated. This causes the heat produced in the body to rise up from the normal level. As the temperature rises, metabolism increases and the bacteria are prevented from increasing. As per the Physicians, as long as the fever is not severe, efforts should not be made to bring it down to the normal temperature, as the body immune system is doing its work to neutralize the buildup of bacteria and fight infection.

Fever of 38ºC (100.4ºF) or above that, is not considered mild and should be treated with immediate effect. Temperature should always be measured when experiencing discomfort to recognize existence of any bacteria.
